TikTok MP3 Downloader

Paste a TikTok link and its sound saves as an MP3 the moment you press Download. You get a real MP3 file, plus TikTok’s untouched original if you’d rather skip the conversion.

Works with video, photo and short vm.tiktok.com links.

How to Turn a TikTok Into an MP3

  1. 1

Copy the link of a video that uses the sound

In TikTok, tap Share on the video, then Copy link. Any video or photo post that plays the sound works, not only the creator's original.

  2. 2

Paste it and press Download MP3

The MP3 starts saving straight away and shows up in your browser's downloads list. The sound's name and the post's details load beside it.

  3. 3

Pick another version if you want

Under Sound you can also save the original audio file, and under Video the full clip without the watermark.

Real MP3 or the Original File: Which to Save

TikTok tags its sounds as MP3, but most of them are actually AAC audio inside an M4A file. Plenty of tools just rename that file to .mp3, which some players and upload forms then refuse. TokVanta checks what the file really is and converts it to a genuine MP3 when you ask for one.

TikTok audio versions compared
VersionWhat you getPick it for
MP3 (converted)LAME VBR at about 190 kbps, 44.1 kHz stereoAnything that asks for an MP3: older car stereos, DJ software, upload forms, most ringtone pickers on Android.
Original audio (no conversion)Usually AAC at about 128 kbps in an M4A file, exactly as TikTok stores itiPhone, Mac, CapCut and other editors. Smallest file and the cleanest copy, since nothing is re-encoded.

Converting can’t add detail that TikTok’s copy doesn’t have. The MP3 is encoded generously so it sounds the same as the original, not better.

Original Sound or Licensed Song?

Every TikTok post carries one sound, and the result shows its name. An original sound is audio the creator recorded or uploaded: their voice, a voice-over, a duet or a song playing in the room. A licensed song comes from TikTok’s music library and is listed with the track and artist name.

Either way, the file is the part used in the post, not the whole track. Library songs are usually trimmed to a short section, so a downloaded TikTok sound is a clip. If you want the full song, it’s worth buying it or streaming it, which also pays the artist. Our guide to downloading music from TikTok covers identifying a song and saving sounds inside the app.

Where the MP3 Goes on Your Phone

iPhone and iPad

Safari asks to download the file, then saves it in the Files app under Downloads. Tap it to play. To use it in an edit, import it from Files into CapCut, iMovie or GarageBand.

Android

Chrome saves the MP3 to the Downloads folder. Music players and the Files app find it there, and it can be picked as a ringtone or notification sound.

On a computer it lands in your usual downloads folder. Want the clip itself instead? The TikTok video downloader saves the MP4 without the watermark.

When There’s No Sound to Download

TikTok muted the sound
When a song's license ends or a rights holder objects, TikTok replaces the audio with silence and shows a notice on the video. There's nothing left to save.
You copied a sound page link
Links to tiktok.com/music/… point at a list of videos. Open any one video that uses the sound and copy that link instead.
The post is private or deleted
TikTok only shows these to approved, signed-in viewers, so neither the video nor its sound can be read.
It's a live stream or a story
Lives and stories aren't saved as normal posts. Only regular videos and photo posts have a downloadable sound.

Using TikTok Sounds Fairly

Saving a sound to listen to, practice a dance or study an edit is personal use. Putting it in your own video inside TikTok is best done with the app’s Use this sound button, which keeps the license and credits the creator. Uploading it elsewhere, selling it or using it in an ad needs permission from whoever owns the recording. Rights holders can reach us through the copyright page.
